Ribes leptanthum, commonly known as slender-stem gooseberry or desert gooseberry, is a deciduous shrub native to the arid regions of the southwestern United States, particularly in desert and scrub habitats. It typically grows 3 to 6 feet tall and has a loose, open, and spiny form, with slender, arching stems that are covered in fine, soft hairs. The leaves are deeply lobed, somewhat shiny, and bright green, providing a contrasting backdrop to the plant's striking, pendulous flowers. These flowers are typically pink to reddish and have long, narrow, tubular petals that attract pollinators, including hummingbirds and bees, during late winter to early spring. After blooming, Ribes leptanthum produces small, green, and spiny berries that ripen to purple or dark red, which are sometimes used in jams or eaten raw, though they can be tart. This shrub is well-adapted to dry, well-drained soils and full sun but can tolerate partial shade. It is valued for its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in xeriscape gardens, attracting wildlife while providing texture and color to desert and southwestern landscapes. Zones 3-8

Germination

To germinate Ribes leptanthum seeds, begin by cold-stratifying them to break dormancy. This can be achieved by placing the seeds in a sealed plastic bag with a moist paper towel and refrigerating them for about 30 to 60 days. After stratification, sow the seeds in a well-draining seed-starting mix, pressing them lightly into the soil without covering them, as they require light to germinate. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, and maintain a temperature of around 65-75°F (18-24°C). Place the seed tray in a location with bright, indirect light or under grow lights to ensure optimal conditions. Germination may take 2-4 weeks, depending on environmental factors. Once the seedlings have developed a couple of sets of true leaves and are large enough to handle, they can be gradually acclimated to outdoor conditions and transplanted into the garden.

Five star all the way around!
I found that the dimensions on this cabinet were a lot bigger than most and most affordable… I can also say that this gives the perfect rustic, modern farmhouse look. Definitely fits a lot more than I expected. This products is very sturdy, it is also wide enough to be able to fit some decor on top, cute little towel bar on it as well. I put this above my toilet and was unsure how it would look due to the fact it had a towel holder, but I absolutely love it. This is a super cute medicine cabinet and not only does it look good, it’s very durable, and fits more medicine than I had expected.

Beautiful sturdy cabinet.
This cabinet is beautiful. Paint was covering all the pieces. I put it together in about an hour by myself. Well made. The gold on black is so sharp. I actually have grey tones in the bath so I took a grey metallic sharpie and ran a line over the gold. Really turned out sharp. They even put black round stickers in the box to cover the screws. Wouldn’t definitely buy again!

Good product with one exception
I was happy with this product. Easy enough to put together. Provides great storage space. Unfortunately one of the screws it came with was not functional so I've been unable to install both door pulls.

Really nice for the price.
Wouldn’t expect the quality for the price in today’s over inflated world. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not made from rare woods and interesting hand made joinery, but as a cheap cabinet to go in my bathroom in my rental apartment to replace the one that delaminated from the bathroom steam, yeah it’s pretty good. It’s made of what looks like mdf but the finish is what got me, it’s like a heavy spray on lacquer or at least feels like it, which shouldn’t delaminate like a veneered panel. My only complaint is the stickers to cover the screw holes, they could be a bit thicker so they don’t get wrinkled.
