Phedimus spurius 'Dragon's Blood' (formerly known as Sedum spurium 'Dragon's Blood') is a captivating succulent perfect for adding vibrant color to any garden. Originating from Germany, this cultivar was developed under the name Sedum spurium 'Schorbuser Blut' but is widely sold as 'Dragon's Blood'. Recently reclassified, it now belongs to the genus Phedimus.

This evergreen perennial forms low-growing mats, reaching up to 10 cm in height and spreading up to 45 cm wide. Its creeping stems root at the nodes, creating a dense and attractive ground cover. The foliage starts green with purple-red margins in spring, turning entirely red by autumn, providing a dynamic seasonal display. In winter, the plant goes partially dormant and sheds some of its leaves.

The star-shaped flowers of Phedimus spurius 'Dragon's Blood' appear in clusters from mid-summer to autumn, ranging from pink to red. These blooms are not only visually appealing but also attract butterflies, adding to the garden's ecological diversity.

Thriving in full sun, this plant tolerates light shade but prefers well-drained soils to prevent root rot. It can endure Australian climate conditions, handling temperatures as low as -34°C. Phedimus spurius 'Dragon's Blood' is drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens.

Propagation is straightforward, with options including seeds, division, or stem cuttings. This plant is mildly toxic to humans and animals, so it should be handled with care. Ideal for rock gardens, borders, and containers, Phedimus spurius 'Dragon's Blood' is a versatile and resilient addition to any garden, bringing year-round interest and vibrant color.

Classic design and good sturdy quality
Color: Silver, Number of Items: 2
Let's just address the elephant in the room. My family says I am cheap, but I call it thrifty. Either way, I bought a couple of cork screws earlier that left like they would break at any moment when pushing down the arms, and after a few bottles, one arm did bend. So this time, i paid attention to the reviews and chose these cork screws as the review said they are solid quality. The review was correct. This design is pretty fool proof and easy for anyone to use. You do not need super human strength to pull the cork. Just remove the foil, screw the sharp coil into the cork until the arms have reached the top of their range, the place the bottle on a hard surface and push both arms down. Easy peasy. The bad openers I mentioned earlier did not have anything on the opener arms and the metal was thin. It did not provide a good feel. These cork screws have thicker arms and have a rubber grip on them which provides a much more comfortable operation. I would definitely recommend these cork screws for quality and value.

Good wine opener, not great
Color: Silver, Number of Items: 1
Definitely doesn’t feel as robust as other openers I’ve used. Takes a bit for the teeth to catch and you have to ensure it’s all the way in before pulling the cork out. Still gets the job done though

great addition to your wine collection

The wine opener works just fine. I had one like this before but it was difficult to get the cork out. This one is much easier and it also looks good as well. The handles add a nice touch.

I had had it with cheaply functioning wine bottle openers!
Color: Silver, Number of Items: 1
I like a manually functioning wine bottle opener. This one is smooth and easy to use and I didn't feel like I would cut my finger when removing the cork from the opener. Would definitely recommend!
