Buy the Frankie Dress sewing pattern from Elle Stitch. The Frankie Dress is a buffet style mini dress. It features a self-lined crossover bodice, puff sleeves, and a two-tier gathered skirt. Frankie has a relaxed, oversized fit. There is also the option to pump up the volume by increasing the amount of gathered fabric in each tier.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Note if purchasing copy shop printing: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Light to midweight woven fabric, such as lightweight linen, crinkle linen, cotton lawn, or linen rayon blend. The fabric you choose will affect the overall look of your dress. A drapey fabric such as rayon will create a soft, flowy dress, whereas a stiffer fabric will create a more voluminous silhouette.

Fabric requirements: If using fabric with a directional print, you may need to purchase more fabric. 

115 cm (45") wide fabric: Sizes 4 - 12, 2.5 m (2.7 yd) or 3.9 m (4.2 yd) for extra volume.

150 cm (59") wide fabric: Sizes 4 - 12, 2.2 m (2.4 yd) or 3.5 m (3.8 yd) for extra volume // Sizes 14 - 24, 2.7 m (3 yd) or 4.2 m (4.6 yd) for extra volume.

Sizing: AUS 4 – 24 (approx. UK 6 – 24, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern was drafted for a 32C bust and a 160 cm (5'3") height. If you have a larger bust, you may consider a full bust adjustment.

Notions: 2.5 cm (1") wide elastic (see chart).
