earthquaker plumes pedal EarthQuaker Devices Plumes Small Signal Shredder One-of-a-Kind Color #27When our friends at EarthQuaker Devices approached us with a chance to get hundreds of one of a kind pedals all at once, we jumped at it! In order to offer as many custom colorways as EarthQuaker Devices, you have to experiment a lot. The result is a stockpile of one off pedals the likes of which we have never seen. Each pedal is unique and only available at Chicago Music Exchange. When it's gone, it's gone. The Plumes is a low to medium gain

When our friends at EarthQuaker Devices approached us with a chance to get hundreds of one-of-a-kind pedals all at once, we jumped at it! In order to offer as many custom colorways as EarthQuaker Devices, you have to experiment - a lot. The result is a stockpile of one-off pedals the likes of which we have never seen. Each pedal is unique and only available at Chicago Music Exchange. When it's gone, it's gone.

The Plumes is a low to medium gain overdrive based on the trusty lime-green overdrive that has been an industry staple since its inception. This is the kind of overdrive that works in conjunction with a good valve amp to create the warm saturation people like to call “transparent”. While this circuit has been the foundation of countless other overdrives available today, we feel the Plumes has a few twists and turns to make it unique enough to stand out.

The Plumes does away with the trusted JRC4558 OpAmp and the BJT buffers and replaces them with low noise JFET OpAmps for a more robust and precise signal with a significantly lower noise floor. The 9v power input is internally converted to +/- 9v for more headroom and a clarity that is almost three-dimensional. We’ve raised the input impedance to a whopping 10 megaohms for a stronger signal with more clarity and chime. We’ve also adjusted the cutoff of the tone control to deliver a more useful range of travel with more booming bass on the low end with out sacrificing the cutting midrange and bright top end.

Last, but certainly not least, the Plumes offers three different clipping options to ensure that it will work with a wide variety of gear and playing styles. Mode 1 is symmetrical clipping utilizing a pair of light emitting diodes. This is the crunchiest setting the Plumes has to offer. When played through a clean amp, it’ll deliver a reasonable facsimile of that classic crunchy valve amp tone. Mode 2 is clean boost mode. This eliminates the soft clipping diodes altogether and leaves you with straight OpAmp drive. This is perfect for pushing your clean tone out in front or driving the preamp of an already overdriven amp into tasteful breakup territory. Mode 3 is an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement similar to the stock screamer but with more output and clean clarity; the tone some people describe as “transparent”.

The Plumes features EarthQuaker Devices relay-based “soft touch” Flexi-Switch Technology for both momentary and latching footswitch operation as well as a very low 25mA current draw.

Each and every Plumes is built one-at-a-time by delightful little hands in Akron, Ohio; the charred, black heart in the heart of it all...

The cutest softest, quack, quack
Color: PINK
My seven year-old full octane energy 12 pound dog is obsessed with ducks every toy that she’s ever gotten really attached to has been a duck and I bought the same exact up from a different store at least a dozen times because she was obsessed with it. But as soon as she would get the noisemaker out of it, it was time for anyone. But it was so cheaply made I decided to start getting her different ducks that were supposed to be harder to destroy, and we still have a graveyard of destroyed ducks. But this one she doesn’t wanna destroy it. It only has one little squeaker is what I call it so she doesn’t care to try to tear it open and take it out. The material is extremely lush and soft and it is incredibly adorable. I don’t really know what makes it an interactive toy though, but I recommend it.

Color: PINK, Color: PINK
My 5 1/2 month old Maltese destroyed this toy in a few days so I would definitely say it is not chew resistance.

Low/mid-tier toy at a high price point
Color: YELLOW
I have two pitbulls and they LOVE their babies! Sadly, one of them likes to tear their babies apart when he gets anxious, so it was time to look for some new ones. They seem to favor any stuffed animal can be "nommed" on (suckled), so when I came across this duck rope toy, I thought I'd give it a try! The toy arrived quickly, did not have any visible defects, and looked exactly as it does in the listing photos. It has a body filled with stuffing, crinkly arms, and a rope neck. There is one squeaker in the main body section. The minute the dogs saw me unpack the duck, they were at my feet and staring at me like "hand over the baby, woman." So, I did..... And they hated it :( For some reason, my dogs have totally rejected this toy... All they do is sniff it? They typically LOVE rope toys or anything that is elongated and allows them to play tug-o-war. So, I am not sure what the deal is with this duck. *shrug* Currently, this stuffed duck rope toy is listed for $10.49 on sale, down from the regular price of $14.99. I consider this toy to be low end to mid tier at best. It's something you would expect to find at your local discount/dollar store. Based on the lower quality, I think the current price is higher than I would be willing to pay for this toy. While the toy is exactly as depicted in the listing photos, it is nothing special and definitely is NOT "indestructible."
